MATER AMABILIS~MOTHER MOST AMIABLE
Meditations on Mary - Terence Cardinal Cook
We should recognize that we live in a world of defects and limitations, where no character is without a flaw and where no life is without its tempering of pain. Life with its joys and sorrows has been likened to a rose bush with its beautiful flowers and its sharp thorns.
We all need the power to overlook or to smile away some of the distressing details of existence. In each life much must be ignored and in each personality much must be forgiven and forgotten.
There are people who do not forget anything- the way you acted the day everything went wrong- hasty judgements that you repented as soon as they are made- words that you said before you knew it.
With God’s help, we can control our feelings of depression and their outward manifestations.
“And now I beg you to be of good cheer”~St. Paul.
Mother Most Amiable, never an unkind oppressing look in your eyes ,never a wounding, depressing word from your lips, never a bitter, discouraging thought in your heart please Pray for us.
